Happy "Howlidays" from the Baxter's!
Since, last year was the year of our wedding, I sent out a wedding picture for our Christmas card that said "All is Married and Bright". So, this was our first year taking family Christmas photos. It has been a long crazy year with taking new jobs and moving twice, but we finally decided that this is where we want to grow our roots.
We did our first family Christmas card by the old barn that sits on the land that our future home will be built. I wanted a rustic and classy look but also very "Christmassy". I went with this festive plaid skirt and sweater from J. Crew. The sweater is in stock but the skirt is unfortunately sold out for now. No fear, I've linked lots and lots of similars. Wow, so why don't we wear red more often? Not just for sexiness. This red dress makes me feel powerful, confident, fearless, and pretty sassy. I feel like I can take on whatever the worlds throws at me.
A little red dress is a classic wardrobe item that can be appropriate for a variety of occasions. You don't have to be Jessica Rabbit when wearing red; just be aware of length, cut, and fit. I wore this dress to a professional event, and felt great in it! J. Crew factory has the best fit! This one fit like a glove (not too tight), and was the appropriate length! There's something about Fall fashion that really gets me excited. Fall brings sweater weather, crunching leaves, crisp air, and pumpkin spice everything! The only downside to sweaters, scarves, and leggings while living in the deep South, is that it's still 90 degrees in the middle of October! Oh well, I will try my best to stay in season by mixing cozy sweaters with skirts and booties. I went for a more relaxed looked with these slip-on sneakers. Mine were bought from T.J. Maxx, but I have linked more similar pairs. This H&M sweater is the perfect hue of red. I have always hated the color orange but I absolutely love the tint of this garment. It's the perfect mix. I also adore the bell sleeve detail.
My faux leather skirt is also from H&M. I really respect that they made this one with length in mind. I think it hits the perfect spot, and the high waist is great for showing off the waist line. I went a size up for length and less confinement.

Polka Dots are one of the most versatile patterns to wear! I love this pleated one from J.Crew Factory. I didn't want to over complicate my look so I paired my polka dot skirt with a denim blouse and tied it up to extenuate the waist line. I also love to play with prints and mix these dots with my leopard flats- fun, yet chic.

If you've been following all the big beauty bloggers, you know that sheet face masks are all the rage! I like to use sheet masks when my moisturizer isn't doing the trick and my skin looks dull. If you watch my snapchat, I also love to run a hot bath, grab a glass of wine, throw on a sheet mask and soak in a bath bomb!
I have trouble with dry, flaky skin around my nose and sometimes on my cheeks, especially in the winter months. Sheet masks are really helpful at adding extra hydration and brightening dull skin.

These sheet mask come in gorgeous, colorful packaging! The first mask I used was the 10:00 PM mask, The nose cut out was a bit awkward, and the mask itself wanted to cling to itself. However, most every sheet mask sticks to itself. It definitely rehydrated and softened my skin. My skin also absorbed it well, as well as having a noticeable cooling effect on my red sunburn from this past weekend.

“Why do you have to have ALL your clothes there?” my Dad asked me last weekend. If you haven’t heard yet, Lance and I are moving back home! We are going to rent my parent’s beach house in the meantime before we can buy another house. I have already moved down and started my new job, and Lance will follow in a week. I only brought less than a third of my wardrobe (as you can imagine, it’s huge). However, I’m planning on bringing my entire closet. Without much closet space at the beach house, my dad protests my decision to bring all my clothes. “Why can’t you just keep one season in storage,” he asks. I insist that I have all my clothes with me. “But transitional wear is coming up! Right?” Maybe I’m being a little too difficult?
This discussion got me wondering. Why are my clothes so important to me? Why do I long for them to be with me?
When you think about it, they are really just pieces of cloth, just fabric and material. I know that we shouldn’t let material things come before God or become so important we can’t walk away from them. Here lately, I’ve tried to be more about the “experience” and not about “things”. When I look at something I really want, I remind myself, “You can’t take it with you when you’re gone.”
Though, besides the facts, my clothes are so much more to me than just the name brand, price tag, or the apparent statement.
They are memories. This might be why it’s admittedly hard for me to let go of most of them. I can look at any one of my garments in my closet and tell you the story behind each, even from years before.

Hello everyone! I've been reviewing a couple of beauty products these last few posts, which came at a perfect time. I haven't been able to take pictures because of the constant rain. If you your'e living in the 2000's, you know all about the dry shampoo trend. It has revolutionized the the showering routines of millions of women! Before I get started, I want to let you all know that I use dry shampoo, but I don't live by it like many of my friends. I have to wash my hair at least every other day for oil control. As you have read before, my hair is incredibly thin, and it doesn't take much to make it unattractively oily. I may wear dry shampoo about 1-2 times a week. I try to not wash my tooooooo much.
I've been trying HASK Argan Dry Shampoo for the past three weeks. It has an extremely pronounced citrusy scent that is divine. It smells notably clean. I love the way it makes the ends of my hair feel. However, I don't think this particular shampoo absorbed as much oil as I would've liked. I LOVE the brand HASK, and don't get me wrong, this is not a bad shampoo. I just don't think this was the right formula for my hair type. I would like to try the charcoal formula for long-lasting oil absorption. I think charcoal would be better for absorbing oil off the scalp than argan oil, right? The argan oil formula just didn't work as good on my oily scalp. I do however like to use this formula to give my hair a little more texture for an afternoon reboot, and refresh limp locks. I can't wait to try it at the beach and mix it with the salty air and a beach blown look. All of HASK dry shampoos are free of: sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten and artificial colors.
So the ultimate review:
It has a great refreshing smell. It's great for refreshing texture and adding grip, but not so great for absorbing oil on the scalp. Also, the shampoo came with this really cute bag in my middle picture above, which was definitely a PLUS! Thank you HASK for this review, because we all know that some days we are 80% coffee and 20% dry shampoo!

Before styling, my hair was washed and was air dried the night before. I brushed it out with some help from It's a 10. The next morning, I applied the Kenra Whip Grip Mousse, using more on my ends for curls. It was not crunchy, like most mousse formulas make my hair. I was going for big hollywood curls for a date night look. I then used the Kenra Air Grip Spray and sprayed it all over my hair to help with texture and holding curl. I curled all my hair, did a hair flip, and sprayed all over with Kenra High Grip Spray to seal the deal. It was the perfect combination and it held up all day and night, even in the humidity. .

I made an Ultra store haul a couple of weeks ago to try out some new products. Here's the run-down:
0. Tarte Amazonian Clay Highlighter: 5 Stars! I am always looking for the perfect highlighter, and the one takes the cake. I have been using Becca in Pearl but I think I like the natural tone of this one. The bronzy shade gives you a very natural glow. I love it and will be using this product all the time. Plus it smells amazing.
1. St. Tropez Tanning Oil: 4 Stars. I can't lie, I like this product better than the Rodan and Fields brand of self-tanner. This oil is very nourishing to your skin and my legs felt really hydrated after one use. I felt like I had even put on lotion. This oil is also laced with a light shimmer sheen. Put it on before going out, and your legs will look sun kissed. It's perfect if you really want your skin to glow in the sunlight. Who doesn’t want to sparkle? I also like how the oil is tinted and you can see where you are actually rubbing it in. The application is not invisible like most tanning lotions and you can clearly see where the oil may streak. The oil can be a little sticky but did not stain any clothing. However, I would still wait a while before putting on new clothing as you would with any other self-tanner.
2. Micellar Cleansing Water: 5 Stars! I use makeup cleaning wipes and I found so much residue left over from my wipes from this cleansing water. It really cleans and get all the stubborn makeup off. It never leaves my skin dry. It's kind of like a toner without the harshness. My face felt extremely clean after use.
3. It's a 10: 5 Stars! Seriously cannot live without this product. The bottle says its benefits are....Instant detangling, Prevents breakage, Extends color treated hair, Adds shine, Weightless deep moisture, Heat protectant, and De-frizzes, and it really does all that and more. This is a must have to keep your hair healthy! I really love the detangling benefit! I use it EVERY DAY!
4. Not your Mother's Texturizing Sea Salt Spray: 4 Stars! For that beach wavey hair, I love this product. This spray is infused with natural dead sea salt and sea kelp. I use this spray for tasseled waves. It works best for me when I don’t wash my hair for one day and I get more texture. It also smalls like coconuts. I
5. 24K Gold Crème Mask: 4 Stars. WOW just wow! This mask left my skin feeling rejuvenated and smooth. I felt like a queen with my face being bathed in 24k gold! I used this mask while soaking in a bath bomb. I have read reviews were this mask didn’t work well with women with sensitive skin.
6. Say Yes To Tomatoes Charcoal Mask: 2 Stars. This mask was… ok. I don’t feel like I got any purifying results. The blackheads were still there. My skin did feel smoother after one use though.
7. Rock Bottom Baby Shock Therapy: 2 Stars: My ends are damaged from dying my hair at the ends, so I wanted to try this. I was afraid that I had damaged my hair a little too much this past time I went to the salon. There are a couple of steps for using. You must brush hair to break bonds of any product on the hair. Spray shot onto your dry hair and comb through for even distribution. I only sprayed it to the ends of my hair because there is not a lot of product in the bottle. You are then supposed to dry hair and flat iron as usual. I didn’t have a flat iron so I used a hair dryer. I then took a shower styled my hair as usual. I didn’t really feel any difference in my hair. My ends were a little smoother but I don’t know if it’s worth it.
8. Too Faced Natural Eyes : 5 Stars! I am in love with really anything Too Faced. Their products have never let me down! This pallet is so smooth. It works great for those days you just want a matte finish, and also those days you are feeling a little frisky and want to break out the shimmer.
9. Not Your Mother's Beat the Heat: 4 Stars! This product was the hit of my Sister-in Law's wedding a couple of weekends ago. All the other bridesmaids were asking about the product and if they could borrow it. The smell is kind of hard to describe but it is amazing..and very strong. After using, I can smell it down our hall and into the bedroom in my house. However, the smell lasts throughout the day in my hair. When I wear Beat the Heat, I find myself smelling the ends of my hair periodically throughout the day. I will never curl or put heat on my hair without this again. It really helps hold curl, and most importantly, it protects!
