I must admit I was a little afraid that I wouldn’t like the way most clothes fit after Baby B started showing a bit. (Hey that rhymes!) Thanks to my best gal at Chicwish, I’m covered with the most gorgeous floral midis, dresses, and skirts. Not only can I wear them now, but I have a great inclination that I’ll be wearing these pieces well after our baby is here. I felt so dreamy in this floral maxi. It’s extremely flowey and definitely worth the wait! I am wearing a small in the top and skirt.

Chicwish Captivate All Eyes Halter Neck Lace Maxi Dress | Shoes | Shell Straw Bag

I can’t rave enough about this halter dress from Chicwish. As you may have seen on my Instagram, I wore it this past weekend for Easter! It was everything I had hoped for and more, because you know, the most important dress of the year is the Easter Dress for Southern girls! I don’t know why, but for Easter, I am always drawn to lace frocks. There is something so classic, so nostalgic, about this timeless fabric. That is why I will be wearing this many more times other than just Easter. I wish I could go back to my wedding because it would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner, or wedding shower.

This dress takes the cake with it’s midi length, open back, and detailing. It fits like a glove too. True to size. I am wearing a small.

Listen here ladies, EVERY woman should own a red dress and wear it… not just for times when you’re seeking romance. I know you’ve heard of the LBD (little black dress) for the times when you felt you have nothing to wear, but what about the LRD?

Here are 10 reasons why everyone needs a Red Dress!

  1. The red dress effect is real!

“It’s a putative phenomenon in which people wearing red clothing, such as a red dress, are perceived to be more sexually appealing than they are when wearing other colors”

  2. The color red is associated with confidence, sexiness, and power!

There is power in red. Nothing says girls boss like red!

  3. You can literally wear red in any season!

There are not many colors that can do that! Wear it All. Year. Long.

4. It symbolizes love and romance.

Single? Rock it! Taken? Rock it!

5. It gets you noticed!

Whether it’s a leadership position at work or a romantic date night, you will always turn heads in red.

6. It’ s extremely versatile!

Wear red during in the day and night! Wear it to brunch with the girls in the morning, or at night for a night on the town.

7. Red is not just one shade.

There are deep reds, such as burgundy, and light shades of red, such as rose. Like they say, there is a shade of red for everyone.

7. You can really pump up the look with red lipstick!

As if you needed another reason to wear red lipstick?

8. Wearing Red changes your attitude.

When I put on red, I feel like I can conquer the world.

9. Red is luxe.

It just can’t be explained; red looks rich on its own. Cha-ching!

10. If you don’t own a red dress, you’re missing out!

Everyone needs a dose of the vivid, vivacious pulse of energy that will instantly engulf you when you put this on.

My gorgeous LRD is from Chicwish. I love the lace detailing which makes it more sweet than sexy-perfect for a fancy brunch. It’s the perfect combination of feminine and edgy. I am wearing a small.

Chicwish Ruffle Skirt | Chicwish Crochet Top | J Crew Sandals Similar | Tory Burch Bag | Karen Walker Sunglasses

Hi friends, I am writing you after a busy week working with Access Magazine and New Orleans Fashion Week! It’s been a heck of a week, but I’m happy to get settled back in. Before I walked the runway in the New Orleans Fashion Week Kick-off event, my brother’s girlfriend, Mackensie, joined me for a fun day walking the streets of Nola, eating and drinking up the culture. (All photos courtesy of Mac). We ate at Auction House and it was DIVINE! I was so excited to finally get to wear this outfit. It was perfect for a Sunday afternoon stroll. I am a huge fan of ruffled skirts and heres why..

Adding some random symmetry to your look can make you look super stylish, and a ruffle skirt can do just that! Depending on the length, these babies can be styled quite differently in their own way. They are so easy to pull off for a flirty, feminine look. In the history of skirts, this one from Chicwish is my FAVORITE of all time. It really is the epitome of effortlessly chic. I am wearing a XS so it fits better around my waist. I paired this look with an open-toed heel for a more elegant and dressed up feel. The white crochet top is also the perfect topping for clean tasteful style. I would wear this outfit to brunch with friends, to a day at the park, a gathering, dinner… Moreover, it’s so versatile that I would even wear this to Easter Sunday! This is a must have closet staple for spring soirees.

Thank you Chicwish for keeping me Chic!!

Stripe Print Sleeveless Long Jumpsuit | H&M Shoes Similar Here | Bamboo Handbag | Karen Walker Sunglasses

Hey gals! Another Amazon Fashion find today! Introducing the stripe print jumpsuit! IT'S ONLY $23! P.S. This jumpsuit comes in other colors as well-blue and pink! I almost go the pink one...

I literally do not own but one other jumpsuit, but his one is really flattering! It accentuates my waist and flares out at the legs. It's also very easy to move in. I went out for a fun night in this jumpsuit with my friends the other weekend and got SOOOO many compliments! People were coming up asking were I bought it, as I was laying down some moves on the dance floor! I won't lie to you though, it's is not the easiest to go to the bathroom in! The look is totally worth it though.

Not sure if you can pull off a jumpsuit?

Style tips:

1. Wear a little heel if your jumpsuit has a wider leg. Jumpsuits' length can come right above your ankle. If you don't want to look super short, wear heels and elongate your legs. Simple straps are best.

2. Vertical stripes elongate your body. Vertical lines let your eyes move easily up and down without any interruption.

3. Skin tight jumpsuits can sometimes be less flattering. Don't go all leotard on me.  I like this one because it hugs my waist, but also fits loose around my legs, kinda giving it an A-line feel.

4. Try jumpsuits with a open back for an extra flare! It will also keep you cool in the summertime.

5. Start out with a solid color at first if your feel hesitant. Black is best! Then add a statement necklace.

Sometimes I like to go a little sporty. I have found that these Adidas superstars go with EVERYTHING- and I mean everything. The basic & original superstars come in black and white, which make it easy to pair with a variety of outfits because of the colors. I also have these in solid white, and I can say the same for them as well. I cannot think of one thing that you couldn't wear these with. I guess the reason they have stuck around this long is because of their versatility.  These are the new "old" shoe of the season. You can wear them with a tee and a skirt like me, a t-shirt dress, cut-off shorts, or boyfriend jeans. Plus, they are super comfortable.  An outfit centered around these shoes is my favorite way to be stylish and comfortable at the same time.

J. Crew Red Cotton-linen apron dress | Gianni Bini Shoes Similar | Turquoise Necklace Similar | Karen Walker Sunglasses

Do you remember my post from a couple of days ago with the seersucker dress? I loved it so much that I went back and bought it in red.  It's on sale for 44$ and I'm so in love (linked above and below).

Fashion designer Bill Blass has been known for saying, “Whenever in doubt, wear red.” That's a quote I will live by. And I’ll admit, there really is nothing in the world like a red dress to make one feel just a little bit sexier.  Even if it's a cute red sundress like this one.

FYI, Red is ALWAYS in style. Here are a couple of reasons why you need a red dress right now!

1. Red symbolizes physical energy, passion, and desire- As I learned in my 12th grade Literature class. This must be why you instantly feel sexier when you slip into that little red number.

2. Red is timeless- There is real photographic evidence that this color NEVER goes out of style.

3. Red dresses are just down right sexy and romantic- Making it perfect for date night.

4. When worn correctly, there is power in a red dress.

5. A red dress will help you stand out, in a good way.

6. Wearing red can make you fee more confident. It may give you a competitive edge.

Try the red dress effect and see for yourself!

Contrary to popular belief, gingham does NOT say "farm girl" anymore! Gingham is now the "it" print of Spring 2018! If you're on Instagram (which I know you are) gingham is the uniform for most fashionistas year round! I love the gingham trend because you can dress it up and make it classy for the office, or dress it down for a casual weekend look. Try a gingham skirt and a graphic tee, or gingham pants with a ruffled top.

I took this look a little to the edgy street style side with my Sam Edelman York Studded Sandals.  My gingham dress is linked below and is from ASOS. I'm wearing a size 4.

J. Crew Seersucker Dress | Karen Walker Sunglasses | J. Crew Pearls | Gianni Bini Shoes Similar

I love how some say they associate seersucker and the seersucker suit with the Alabama Lawyer. My husband is a lawyer, sometimes works in Mobile, and I LOVE it when he wears his seersucker suit. Even when he pairs his seersucker pants it with a white button-down, I drool. If you're from the south, you must own some form of seersucker. I won't get into the the history of seersucker in the south, but it gets HOT down here!

When going to a June Wedding in 90 degree weather, it isn't easy to stay polished! This soft cotton material is exceptionally breathable and actually wrinkle-resistant.  Seersucker provides colorful, classic, and stylish options in Southern social scenes that keeps us cool. I think the blue pattern is the most classic. Overall, seersucker is the quintessential summer fabric for southerners. Its class, breathability, and feminine appearance make it the perfect ensemble for ladies of the South -so invest in some! I'm so in love with this J.crew dress that I think I'm going back to buy it in the solid red linen. It's on sale now! I wore this to church today. Just click the link below or above to buy. Stay cool my friends!

I was completely obsessed the minute I saw it.  I love how they pair each ensemble on their website. If you're not the best at mixing prints, check the website. Some of the photos on the pairing page can give you great ideas and outfit inspo. I was also able to get everything 50% off. J.Crew Factory always has GREAT sales! By the way, you can get this outfit 50%-60% off today! I wore this over Easter weekend with my family, and I've worn it to work.  It would also be perfect for an outdoor spring party. Try a bright ruffled midi skirt, paired with button down shirt, like me. The frilly midi is really the perfect summer outfit, especially when paired with a straw tote and pom pom accessories. I mixed patterns in the blue family, and added a nice pop of color with my hot pink mules. Happy Spring!

Banana Republic Skirt | Banana Republic Top | J.Crew Heels | Tory Burch Flemming Bag | Karen Walker Sunglasses

There’s something markedly sophisticated about a monochromatic outfit. Maybe that’s why many fashionistas look amazing in all-black outfits.  Don't be hesitant to attempt these looks.  Depending on the colors, monochromatic looks can feel super elegant and high-end. Monochromatic outfits flow nicely. They can even save you a lot of time when picking out an outfit- just match colors. One key factor to wearing one color well is to match everything together with precision like my Banana Republic combo. You can do this with ease when you buy both pieces from the same brand.

For this collaboration, I choose to go with this golden beige pencil skirt and a classic fit utility shirt. I love everything about this asymmetric ruffle hem skirt(on sale now)! The bottom of the skirt is certainly busy, so I paired it with not so busy pumps. The way it moves when I walk is to die for. My button-down shirt fits bigger than I would like, but I tied it up and it looks great! I like tying blouses with skirts because it shows a better shape around your midsection, and it adds that little something extra that your outfit may need.
Thank you Banana Republic for this amazing look!

When I Googled the words "Why Wear Red?", this is what I found.

"Red dress effect. The red dress effect is a putative phenomenon in which people wearing red clothing, such as a red dress, are perceived to be more sexually appealing than they are when wearing other colours."

Wow, so why don't we wear red more often? Not just for sexiness. This red dress makes me feel powerful, confident, fearless, and pretty sassy. I feel like I can take on whatever the worlds throws at me.

A little red dress is a classic wardrobe item that can be appropriate for a variety of occasions. You don't have to be Jessica Rabbit when wearing red; just be aware of length, cut, and fit. I wore this dress to a professional event, and felt great in it! J. Crew factory has the best fit! This one fit like a glove (not too tight), and was the appropriate length! Plus, it comes in black and is on sale now!

If you want to wear a red dress, there are many options. Red comes in a variety of shades, so choose one that works for you.  As Audrey Hepburn once said, "There's a shade of red for everyone."  Pair the dress with accessories and makeup that go well with red. I am wearing Smashbox Ombre Red Lipstick, which I'm obsessed with, and I paired this dress with classic J. Crew pearls.

I know that I harp a lot about denim, but that's because it's so universal! It can be comfy and chic at the same time. We all wear denim because it's just, well, ... easy! Denim shirts or pants go with literally EVERYTHING! We all have them in our closets, so let them be worn!

Leather has really made a come back in the past couple of years and now is almost as safe as wearing denim. My most favorite denim combination is denim and leather, and it's so easy to replicate.  It’s a fashionable and trendy combination that will always look effortlessly chic. You can just throw this look,  and look extremely put together. How do you wear denim and leather together?

Polka Dots are one of the most versatile patterns to wear! I love this pleated one from J.Crew Factory. I didn't want to over complicate my look so I paired my polka dot skirt with a denim blouse and tied it up to extenuate the waist line.  I also love to play with prints and mix these dots with my leopard flats- fun, yet chic.

Scale is key when mixing polka dots and prints. Once you have your larger, bolder print, be sure to pair it with a smaller, less dominate print. Two prints of equal scale will give your ensemble an overwhelming appearance and could be unpleasing to the eye. My polka dot print is pretty tiny, so they compliment my bold shoes.

A white blouse is that basic piece that every woman owns, right? Could you wear one every day? It could get kind of repetitive using the same staple day after day, but it doesn't have to be.  You might actually find that you've totally been underestimating your LWT. Oh you like that huh, LWT? (Little White Tee).  Magazines have said it, a white tee, or blouse, is THE ultimate women’s staple. I love this white blouse from StyleWe! I paired it with my ripped boyfriend jeans for a more relaxed look. It has the perfect length cut in the front to hit your jean waist line exactly, so you don’t have to bother with the tuck. It also has a sheer tail that really flows when you walk. The cap sleeves are also perfect for those dressier days when you don’t want to expose your shoulders. I have the exact blouse linked.
